A ‘no-brainer’ for Americans to adopt a no-salt diet
“A no-sin diet can help people feel good, eat less salt, and be healthier,” said John Fudenberg, CEO of The Nutritional Institute.
“The fact that we can all eat these foods without sacrificing any of our health or safety is a huge benefit.”
The company’s research shows that, on average, Americans eat roughly half the salt that they consume in the United States.
“It’s no longer just salt, but sodium that is a big factor in this disease,” said Fudenburg.
“So for those who are struggling to lose weight, it can be an easy way to eat less of it and to have a lower incidence of obesity, heart disease and stroke.”
“One of the most surprising things is how many people are following this no-salad diet,” said Dr. Jeffrey L. Zuckerman, a nutritionist and professor at Harvard Medical School.
“There is no way to be totally healthy without salt,” said Zuckman. “

The idea behind the no salt diets, which were developed in the 1980s, is to promote a reduction in salt intake in favor of eating foods that are rich in fiber and other nutrients that are found in nature, such as vegetables, fruit, whole grains and legumes.
Zuckerman and Fudberg say that, for those of us who are trying to lose fat and keep it off, a healthy diet will allow us to eat more of the foods that we need to build a leaner, healthier body.
The no-Salt Diet can help keep us feeling full and satisfied, according the company, which recently published a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that showed that those who followed the no sin diet had a significantly lower risk of developing diabetes, heart attacks and stroke.
